The long and very rambling Downtrodn Story by Daeron...

Aaron and I started Jamming together in the summer of 1995 I was 14 and he was 15. We'd been friends since childhood and We knew we wanted to start a band but there was no one to be the third person.

Both of us having come from Musical families, he and I started out on the instruments our dads had set down after the 60's died. I moved from lead singer/bass to drummer that summer when Aaron met Mike and he became the bass player. We started out playing covers of our favorite bands in our basements and at friend's parties as we gradually started working on original material.

The name DOWNTRODN came in 1996 on our way to our first show. Mike left the band in 1997 to go to College. The band was put on hold while we looked for a new bassist. And Aaron and I joined GOING OUT OF BUSINESS who was looking for a drummer and a guitar player. DOWN AND OUT as we were called just didn't mesh and we parted ways

A few days after that bands demise Ken joined us and DOWNTRODN was together again. Shortly there after we picked up Mental Kase on rhythm guitar . Mental was still under 18 and with very few clubs nearby that would let him in; we started playing guerrilla shows at any all ages venue and random picnic shelters out in BFE. We kept playing any show offered to us, Biker Parties, Benefits, garages and Porches until he turned 18(you know the drill).

We made a few basement demos and went into the studio to record our first EP "Riot" in the spring of 2000. Mental left the band shortly there after to go to jail. Ken, Aaron, and I remained and today were a three piece band currently residing in Columbus OHIO. We are still playing everywhere and anywhere we can with three EP's and our First full length album "Missing in Distraction" released on St. Patricks Day 2005.

It's the first release from PITFALL RECORDS, a newborn fledgling label that Aaron and I run. We've spent the winter writing for our upcoming new recording that should begin in the coming months.
